ISSUE / 01
COMMON

Microsoft OneDrive is uploading your screenshots

OneDrive can upload Tarkov's screenshots to the cloud before TarkovQuestie can read them, and it can also upload the TarkovQuestie app. Both break the normal flow and the app will not show your location.

FIX
  1. Open OneDrive → Settings
  2. Under "Back up important PC folders to OneDrive", click "Manage backup"
  3. On the screen that opens, turn OFF the Documents folder and the folder where the TarkovQuestie app lives (e.g. if the app is on your Desktop, also turn OFF Desktop)
  4. Restart your computer after applying the changes
ISSUE / 02
COMMON

Tarkov is installed under Program Files (x86)

Windows UAC restricts read/write access to C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files (x86), which blocks TarkovQuestie from reading your EFT logs (no quest sync and no import from logs). The same restrictions also commonly break Tarkov itself (launcher errors, failed updates, corrupted game files) [source]. Moving games out of Program Files is good practice in general, since many titles run into the same issues over time.

FIX
Steam version
  1. Close Steam
  2. Right-click the Steam folder and click Cut
  3. Paste it somewhere outside Program Files, e.g. C:\Games (Steam will live at C:\Games\Steam)
  4. Double-click steam.exe and you're done
Non-Steam version (BSG Launcher)
  1. Close the BSG Launcher
  2. Right-click the "Battlestate Games" folder and click Cut
  3. Paste it at the root of C:\ (the game will live at C:\Battlestate Games\)
  4. Open the launcher → Game Settings → "Set the path to existing game installation"
  5. Select C:\Battlestate Games\Escape From Tarkov\
  6. Game Settings → Integrity Check (the launcher will apply the necessary changes)
ISSUE / 03
COMMON

Lightkeeper and BTR Driver quests do not auto-update from in-game

Accepting or completing Lightkeeper or BTR Driver quests in-game does not auto-update TarkovQuestie's left side quest panel (and Quest Tree). This is not a TarkovQuestie bug. During in-raid gameplay Tarkov does not always write these quest state changes to the logs, so TarkovQuestie has nothing to read.

FIX
  1. In the Quest Tree, search for the quest by name and right-click to set the correct state (Accepted or Completed)
  2. Or right-click the quest on the left side quest panel to set the state
ISSUE / 04
OCCASIONAL

Import from logs returns no quests or only partial data

After clicking Import from logs you see either 'No quest data found in the selected logs' or only some quest states show up. This is not a TarkovQuestie bug; the import is reading what's available. The common cause is that the BSG Launcher's 'Clear Cache' option was used at some point, which deletes your client log files. Without those logs, the accept/complete events TarkovQuestie needs are gone.

FIX
  1. To make it easier, pin the Quest Tree above the game with the 'Stay on top' option, then use the search bar, which jumps straight to your result
  2. For each quest in your in-game Tasks, find it by name in the Quest Tree
  3. Right-click the quest and set the correct state (Accepted or Completed)
  4. Avoid clicking "Clear Cache" in BSG Launcher going forward; future accept/complete events will sync automatically as Tarkov writes new logs
ISSUE / 05
OCCASIONAL

Quest state does not auto-update after accepting or completing in-game

You accept or complete a quest in Tarkov but TarkovQuestie's left side quest panel (and Quest Tree) still shows the old state. The common cause is that the folder configured under 'Quest Auto-Update (BSG Logs)' in TarkovQuestie's settings points at the wrong location, so the app cannot see new log entries as Tarkov writes them.

FIX
  1. Right-click the map and click "Settings"
  2. Open the "General" tab
  3. Under "Quest Auto-Update (BSG Logs)", click "Browse..." and select your EFT logs folder
  4. Steam default: …\steamapps\common\Escape from Tarkov\build\logs\
  5. Non-Steam default: …\Battlestate Games\Escape From Tarkov\Logs
