Escape from Tarkov · Patch 1.1.5.1

Tarkov Leagues

Leagues is a weekly ranked ladder for Escape from Tarkov seasonal characters. After your first raid, the game puts you in a group of 50 players at your rank. The XP you earn that week decides whether you move up, stay, or move down. There are seven ranks. Each one you reach for the first time pays rewards you keep for good.

Season 1 is Kord Breach, so that is the character your league runs on right now. Read what Season 1 is and how it works.

Who is in it
League progress is only available on PvP seasonal, rewards are account-wide. Without a seasonal character, nothing changes for you. Do I have to play it?

  • Rewards are paid the first time you reach a rank and stay in your collection permanently, even if you are demoted the following week.
  • Rewards are account-wide. Earn them on the seasonal character and every character you own can use them, the permanent PMC included.
  • Two achievements are tied to Leagues: one for reaching Survivor and one for reaching Conductor. Both are account-wide, like the rewards.

02

Where league XP comes from

Your league score is the XP your seasonal character earns in the week: the end-of-raid total, task hand-ins and anything paid out of raid. The levers below are in order of how much each one moves that total.

  1. 1

    Extract alive, every raid

    Survived: (raid XP + 300) × 1.5. Killed: raid XP × 0.75. A 1,000 XP raid pays 1,950 alive and 750 dead.

The exit multiplier scales every other source in the raid, so it outranks any single activity. A raid you leave early pays nothing.

  2. 2

Hand in tasks in the week you want to climb

Task rewards are the largest pool in the game: about 10.4 million XP across the 511 current tasks. The ten below are worth 1.2 million between them.

Task XP lands when you turn the task in, not when you finish the objectives, and the exit multiplier does not touch it. You can hold finished tasks and hand them in when they count most.

  3. 3

Bosses and their guards over PMCs

PMC kill 120, head shot 264. Scav 55, head shot 115. Killa 1,100 and Tagilla 1,225 base, more than double for a head shot.

One boss is worth about ten PMC kills before multipliers. Kills in one raid also stack: the second pays 20% extra, the third 30%, and the tenth onwards double.

  4. 4

    Chain maps with transits

Every transit exit pays its own 300, and the chain is paid once, at the final extract, with a multiplier that grows with every map you transit through.

The longer the chain you survive, the more every kill, loot and heal in it is worth. A death anywhere in the chain pays ×0.75 on the lot, so transit when you are set up to keep going.

  5. 5

Squad with an Unheard or EOD (TUE) player

Their team bonus is +20% raid XP for everyone in the group, and a Standard-edition player in that squad gets it too.

Your own edition bonus is Left Behind +7%, Prepare for Escape +9%, Edge of Darkness +12%, Unheard and EOD (TUE) +20%. The group takes the best single bonus present, not the sum.

  6. 6

Collect the one-time XP on a fresh character

Examining every item pays about 36,000 XP once per character. Exploration triggers pay 1,050 on Customs and 3,810 on Factory. Library level 1 in the hideout adds +15% to raid XP.

Small next to tasks, but free. Examining in raid is multiplied by your exit status like everything else.

What your exit does to the raid

ExitBonusMultiplier1,000 XP raid
Survived+300×1.51,950
Killed0×0.75750
MIA+200×0.75900
Run through+200×0.5600
Left0×00
Transit+300grows per mappaid at the end

The last column is a raid with 1,000 XP earned before the exit. A transit exit pays its 300 but banks nothing yet. The whole chain is settled once, at the final extract, and the multiplier rises with each map you transited through.

03

Do I have to play it?

No. League progress is only available on PvP seasonal, rewards are account-wide.

If you have no seasonal character, Leagues do not touch you. If you do, you are in a league from your first raid whether you open the tab or not, and there is no opt-out. Nothing is taken from you for finishing low in your group.

What you give up by ignoring it is the reward set. The rewards are hideout decorations, clothing, a knife and a dogtag variant. None of them changes how your character fights or gates trader progress. They are account-wide, so a rank earned on the seasonal character unlocks its rewards on your permanent PMC as well.

A seasonal character is separate from your permanent account. Your PvP and PvE profiles, stash, hideout and Kappa are untouched whether you climb the ladder or never open it.

04

How a league week works

A league week ends on a fixed server timer, and every group of 50 resolves at the same moment. Your finishing position in the group, not your XP total, decides what happens to you.

Ranks 1 to 4

Top 25 are promoted. Positions 26 to 40 stay at the rank. Positions 41 to 50 are demoted. Nobody is demoted out of Recruit, since there is nowhere to go.

Ranks 5 and 6

Top 20 are promoted. Positions 21 to 40 stay. Positions 41 to 50 are demoted. Five fewer promotion slots per group. That is what makes Ascended and Conductor slow to reach.

Half of every group moves up in the early ranks, so the first weeks feel fast. The narrowing at rank 5 is where a group of 50 starts to feel like a queue.

What counts as score

Every XP source the character has counts: PMC, Scav and boss kills, task hand-ins, examining new items, and the rest of the end-of-raid breakdown. The one exclusion is Arena. Its XP is still paid to the character but is not added to your league score.

05

Starting late is not a disadvantage

Starting a day or two late costs you nothing, and it usually gets you a calmer group.

Groups form from whoever finishes a first raid at about the same time and rank. On 15 September that is the players who queued the moment the servers came back, and those players will put in twelve-hour days all week. A group formed on 17 September is drawn from a different crowd.

The ladder measures XP earned, and XP is mostly a function of hours played. Skill helps, since surviving raids and finishing tasks is where the XP is. But a good player on two hours a night does not outscore an average one on ten. The top of any group belongs to whoever plays the most.

Every week the heaviest players in your group are promoted out of it, so the first two or three weeks sort players by playtime. After that, a player on a normal schedule competes against other players on a normal schedule.

Our note, not a BSG statement: ranks 1 to 4 look reachable on an ordinary schedule, rank 5 is where most players will settle, and ranks 6 and 7 are for the people who treat the season as a job.

Tarkov Leagues questions

How do Tarkov Leagues work?

After your first raid on a PvP seasonal character, the game places you in a group of 50 players at your rank. The XP you earn during the week sets your position on that group’s leaderboard. When the week ends, the top 25 move up a rank, 15 stay, and the bottom 10 move down. At ranks 5 and 6 the split is 20 up, 20 stay, 10 down.

Do Tarkov Leagues affect my main account?

No. Leagues exist only on seasonal characters. Your permanent PvP and PvE profiles are never placed in a group, never gain or lose a rank, and are not changed by anything you do on the ladder.

What XP counts towards Tarkov Leagues?

XP from PMC, Scav and boss kills, task hand-ins, item examination and other in-raid activity. The one exclusion is Arena. XP earned there is still paid to the character but is not added to your league score.

How do you earn more XP in Tarkov Leagues?

Extract alive: a survived raid pays (raid XP + 300) × 1.5 and a death pays × 0.75. Hand in tasks in the week you want to climb, since task rewards are the biggest pool and are paid on turn-in. Take bosses over PMCs: Killa and Tagilla pay over 1,000 XP where a PMC pays 120. Chain maps with transits, since the multiplier grows with every map you survive. Squad with an Unheard or EOD (TUE) player for their +20% team bonus.

What are the Tarkov League ranks?

Seven, in order: Recruit, Survivor, Veteran, Ruthless, Reborn, Ascended and Conductor. Ranks 1 to 4 promote 25 players a week from each group of 50. Ranks 5 and 6 promote 20.

Do you keep Tarkov League rewards if you get demoted?

Yes. Rewards are paid the first time you reach a rank and stay in your collection permanently. Being demoted the next week does not take them away, and reaching the rank again does not pay them twice.

Are Tarkov League rewards account-wide?

Yes. Rewards and the two league achievements are earned on the seasonal character and apply to your whole account, so your permanent PMC gets them as well. Demotion later does not remove them.

Can you be demoted from Recruit in Tarkov Leagues?

No. Recruit is the lowest rank, so the bottom 10 of a Recruit group stay where they are. Demotion only applies from Survivor upwards.

When did Tarkov Leagues start?

Leagues went live with patch 1.1.5.1 on 15 September 2026. BSG announced the system for patch 1.1.5.0 on 2 September and shipped it one patch later. League progress is only available on PvP seasonal, rewards are account-wide.
